Things to do in Nottingham

Already explored our lovely Delta by Marriott Nottingham Belfry Hotel and its grounds? Why not head out into Nottingham? Here’s a few of some of the most interesting things to do in the city.

HATCHET HARRY’S

Can you hit the bullseye?

Do something a little different and give axe throwing a go. Individually or as a group, you can take over one of the lanes at Hatchet Harry’s throw axes until your arms get tired. Hatchet Harry’s also lets you order in your own food, so it really is like a private party.

CITY OF CAVES

Explore underground.

Nottingham has the UK’s largest network of caves, so why not take the opportunity to explore them? You can see World War Two air raid shelters and even a medieval tannery where leather was made. The audio tour is 45 minutes, and it’s recommended you bring comfortable shoes.

BROMLEY HOUSE LIBRARY

Enjoy browsing.

Hidden right in the middle of Nottingham city centre, Bromley House holds a three floor library with over 47,000 manuscripts. The library has been there since 1821 and is now a Grade II listed building. Cosy up in one of the armchairs and get lost in a good book.

NOTTINGHAM CASTLE

Step into history.

Originally built in 1068 after William I’s successful invasion of England, Nottingham Castle has a rich history, including three rebuilds. Now, you can explore the exhibits inside the castle itself, and roam about the grounds. Plus, there are normally performances to catch at the open air theatre.
